A dining table 160 to 180 cm long and six chairs made of the same oak with the same finish, with the proportions already figured out: the correct seat height for the tabletop, chairs that fit under the table, and an identical shade across all pieces. With a table measuring 160 x 90 cm, set aside an area of about 340 x 250 cm: the table, the occupied chairs, and space to walk behind them. If your room isn't big enough, consider placing one side of the table against the wall on weekdays and setting the table only when all six seats are occupied.

Apply the natural oil to the table and chairs in a single session, once or twice a year, and make sure the sunlight is distributed evenly: the chair next to the window will age differently if you don’t rotate it. With that minimal effort, the set will age just as it did when you bought it: uniformly.
